Learn the Figurative Art

Get to know the illustrations and their function in representing words or phrases. Your own symbols will be crafted, driven by conveying your ideas and playing with the weight of the line, simplicity, and colour in your unique series of illustrations.

Create innovative multimedia art

Creating relief prints using styrofoam
Ages: 6 to 10 years

Enhance your relief printing skills. Carve designs into styrofoam sheets, adding compositional details such as shapes, contrasting shading, and lines. Apply coloured inks, and create prints by pressing the inked plates directly onto watercolour paper.

Making refrigerator magnets

Uncover the secrets to extracting homemade, chemical–free dyes from locally available plants and flowers. Use these natural watercolours to create a painting to decorate your home.                     

COURSES

Making handmade pottery 
Ages: 11 to 15 years

Dates:  Monday - Tuesday, 15 – 16 January 2024

Learn how to make pottery without a wheel. Follow the traditional method, using your hands and basic tools to create a variety of shapes. Practice techniques such as slab building and coiling in pottery. By the end of the session, you'll be able to create a piece with your own hands.
In the second session, you will learn the processes of drying, glazing, and firing the pottery. You can complete your pieces from the previous session by adding coloured glaze and firing them in the kiln.

Creating relief prints

Join us in a course on relief sculpture, exploring easy techniques in bringing artistic subjects to life. In this course, you'll learn the sequential stages of relief sculpture and how to create various subjects using straightforward methods.

Discovering the art of stitching and binding 
Ages: 11 to 15 years

Join us in a two-session course where we'll start by reviewing the history of Japanese bookbinding. We will lay the foundations for participants to understand the concept and craft books using specialized tools, handmade paper, and linen threads to create albums or artistic binders.
