Junior Cricket Tournament
Dates: Friday and Saturday, 26–27 May 2023
Timings: 5:00 pm–9:00 pm
Sharjah Art Foundation will host a junior cricket tournament in collaboration with the academy at Sharjah Cricket on 26 and 27 May 2023. Teams from the academy, aged 7 to 11, will compete in matches at Al Mureijah Square.
This event reactivates Gary Simmons’ artwork Across the Chalk Line (2015), designed in the form of a junior-sized cricket oval. The public art project, part of the Foundation’s long-running and sustained commitment to the community, was created for Sharjah Biennial 12: The Past, the Present, the Possible (2015).
The tournament is free and open to the public. Cricket enthusiasts and families in the community are welcome to gather and encourage the players.
